10 phones less than £10 a month

How much do you think you have to pay to get a decent smartphone? £20 a month? £30 a month?

Think again!

Phone manufacturers have been waking up to the fact that none of us have much money to spend these days, and many of them now offer budget phones as well as their top-of-the-range models. These are lower spec, but still offer most of the features you'd expect of a smartphone - internet access, email, camera etc - but are proving to be extremely popular with customers. Nokia even reported earlier this year that it's budget phone, the Asha, has been outselling its high-end Lumia models by 2 to 1.

In addition, some of the phones that were trail-blazers a few years ago are still available, and although they've been superseded by later models, they're still decent phones.

For example, the Nokia Asha 300 and HTC's Wildfire and Desire phones all come with decent 5 megapixel cameras, and the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 and HTC Desire both have good-sized 3.5 inch screens.

LG's Optimus L3 boasts a whopping 1GB internal memory, and the Sony Xperia U is a good all rounder, with a 3.5 inch screen, 5 megapixel camera and a range of music enhancements such as Clear Bass.

Here are 10 smartphones that you can get for less than £10 a month (and less than £5 a month in some cases)*:
